Fallout 1.5: Resurrection

09.07.2008 Perks and Music

As you may have read in our FAQ, Resurrection will bring new perks, which you couldn’t have seen in the original Fallout 2. When we were trying to think of the new perks, we realized that practically every aspect of the character development had some kind of a perk to go with it. There was almost no room for anything new that wouldn’t be merely a variation of the original. Nonetheless we did manage to squeeze in a few more new perks and thought of some interesting combinations. We often got inspired by perks from Fallout Tactics, but you’ll find some brand new and original ones too. With those, it will be best if you discover them yourself whilst playing. We’re not gonna reveal the exact number of perks at this point anyway. Thought we decided to at least show you two perks based on those from Fallout Tactics. In the Gallery, you can now find a picture with the descriptions of perks “Leader” and “Loner”.

Several times we were asked about music in Resurrection. The answer is such that we’re mostly going to use tunes from the first two Fallouts. Such quality music creating the right atmosphere should not be wasted. However for a few locations in our game we didn’t find any of the original tracks appropriate, which is why I’m glad that already for some time new music is handled by Emitremmus, whom I’m now officially welcoming to our team. Through his website http://www.takusama.com you can listen to his work, inspired among others also by computer games, including Fallout.

22.05.2008 Small graphics update

Time passed like water and before we knew it came the time for another update from our small world of Fallout modding. Since last time we came yet another step closer to our much sought goal. Though there is still some hard finishing work awaiting us, which is why I’m glad to introduce two new team members, who will hopefully help us with this uneasy task. Both are graphic artists and they’ll aid with unfortunately still unfinished ending screens. They are Míráč (sample of his work: first, second) and Bretan. The graphics chapter still remains unclosed and so if there is someone who’s handy with 3D graphics and feels like they can help, we’ll be glad if you contact us.

Thanks to those who keep their fingers crossed for us. Keep them that way, so that they bring us luck.

26.03.2008 How are we doing and when are we actually going to finish

Firstly I would like to thank those of you, who keep their fingers crossed and ask you to keep them that way. Currently we are starting scripting the last and incidentally the biggest location, which is why I have to announce that Resurrection won’t be finished this month. When we last year set the release date to the end of the year, not only that we really hoped that we will make it, but it also then appeared as a realistic date. We definitely didn’t waste our time. Last year we did an enormous amount of work, which we’ve ended, among other things, with a new design of our web page. Of course not everyone could spend as much time on the project as they would like to, and why not admit it, we didn’t properly estimate the time needed to finish certain things and to do the final tuning.

So when will Resurrection be finished During the hectic period when the new web page was starting we a bit naively moved the release date only to the first quarter of the year. Although not in the first couple of months, the Czech version will definitely be released before the end of the year. Considering the past experience we’ll rather not specify the release date any further, so that we have a sufficient margin, and so this time we can hope be sure that we can make it. Whether the English version will be done this year, I can’t promise with clear conscience, but we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. Either way we’ll keep you informed about the progress of our work.
