Character Editor

Post by MoonDaddy »

Just like Fallout 2, I like to use the character editor (mostly to get around that pesky carry weight limit) when I play. I have falche 2.0 now, will it work with Resurrection?

You can use this savegame editor:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WzNQs4 ... sp=sharing

It's universal, just do everything told in "F12se Instruction" file and enjoy.

I followed these steps in the instruction file:

1. Create a DATA folder in Resurrection folder. (There was already a Data folder, do I need to make another one?)
2. Copy resdata\SAVEGAME folder to DATA.
3. Make a copy of fores.cfg and rename it to fallout2.cfg. (I did this)
4. Make a copy of fores.dat and rename it to patch000.dat. (I did this)
5. Copy fallout2.exe from your FO2 main folder to Resurrection folder, or make a copy of FALLOUT2 (no extension) in Resurrection folder and add .exe extension to it. (I did this)
6. Open F12se and set the path in File -> Settings (you can press F12) to Resurrection folder, done.

I got about this far:

Any advice?

The tutorial was for Resurrection v1.4 with older F12se and is obsolete by now. The updated F12se can easily be set to use Resurrection's fores.cfg and FALLOUT2 main executable (without extension).

I'm not having much more success with this editor, although I will say I can get it to load my stats properly. I have modified "bonus stats" (carry weight = 999" and made sure to save my changes. But every time I go to load my resurrection game, my carry weight remains at its original value.

Should F12se be in the Fallout 2 folder or the Resurrection folder?

In Resurrection folder.

I have tried it and made it work this way:
Copy F12se.exe into Resurrection folder.
Run F12se.exe and close it. That'll create F12se.ini file. In it edit "path" so it leads into Resurrection folder.
Make copy of fores.cfg and name it fallout2.cfg
Now you can run F12se.exe and make your changes.

It can be propably done in better way, F12se is still reporting some errors, but I have successfully changed carry weight limit this way.
