Companions
Could somebody knowlegable post their locations, skills/perks and requirements for recruitment?
Also can I turn my dog into a cyborg?
He's so squishy I'm afraid to take him with me.
So far I have found 3 -
1. Dog in Rat Hole South- I had to buy him and feed him some jerky (melee)
2. Keri in Crimson Caravans' building in Sedit (melee/barter/small guns)
3. Doctor chick in the Empire Palace - wouldn't come with me

That dog is in Rat Hole, not in New Hope.ddguy71 wrote:Could somebody knowlegable post their locations, skills/perks and requirements for recruitment?

Re: Companions
Assassin in Rodriguez's Casino. I don't remember his name. He's very helpful in fight, but also very demanding - he left me and I don't know why besides some insults.
Re: Companions
Where exactly is that assassin? on the second floor? or at the bar area? I helped ghouls steal some nuggets and now no one wants to talk to me at the casino

Re: Companions
He should stay by the bar.
Re: Companions
From my experience (and a quick look with google translator at the game's wiki), there are five companions:
Mutt, in a house south of Rat Hole (you will see a man yelling from inside his house). You need to talk with the owner and get the dog from him with caps/speech/a shotgun to the face/???. The dog will also need some food, like meat jerky or iguana bits, before it'll follow you.
Keri, in the Crimson Caravan office located in the Little Hub part of Sedit. She's tagged melee/barter/small guns. Can only wear her current armor/robes. Apparently won't follow you if your intelligence is too low. Will probably stop following if you do actions against her own family business. Haven't seen anything else that may cause complaints from her, so far. She's pretty neutral.
Gabriel, in the Mexican Casino located in the Lost Town part of Sedit (beside the counter, guy in leather armor). He's tagged small guns/melee/big guns (if I remember correctly!). Not sure if he can wear anything better than his leather armor. Won't follow you if your karma is not low enough. Will leave if your karma raises too much. Apparently, he'll also ask of a share from some jobs you'll do (if you check one of the screenshots, there's a man in leather armor who asks for a share from the raiding trip. Pretty sure that's Gabriel!).
Lystra, in the Empire Administration Center (or however you want to call it, she's in a bedroom in the big building to the right where the Emperor is located). She's tagged energy weapons/first aid/doctor. Can only wear armors that are superior to her Imperial Metal Armor. Won't follow you if your karma is not high enough. Will leave if you join certain evil factions (she will warn you about it before you do, though) or if your karma drops too low. Will also probably leave if you take too much time to complete her personal quest (it's really easy, however, so don't worry about it).
Slinta, located somewhere in a cave. There are some small details about this companion in the wiki. It's apparently a Floater, that will follow you if your intelligence is low enough. I translated these details with google translator, so, the information is somewhat trippy and incomplete. Migh search for this guy later.
Feel free to correct me, if my post contains mistakes.

Re: Companions
I've found that Keri will wear combat armor as well.
Also, on a side note, giving her robes makes her able to use guns with rifle animation (combat shotguns at least) although she doesn't mention any proficiency with them.
By the way, I was really really hoping you could recruit Vodka right when I met him.

Re: Companions
It's probably the floater with an unique description in Asmodea's Cave. You can get the location from the quest in Junkyard. Characters with IN > 3 can talk to it with wearing the robe, but both dialog options lead to combat.Altairp wrote:Slinta, located somewhere in a cave. Not sure if bringing it to other towns will cause any panic or trouble.
Actually humanoid companions can wear other armors, e.g. leather armor for Keri. Resurrection disabled some UI buttons but there are hotkeys for them, so technically you can just press hotkeys to enter barter/trade UI or make them wear best armor.
BTW, I can't find any dialog options to tell Keri undressing the robe to change her appearance back to punk girl.

What are those hotkeys? Or where do I config them??NovaRain wrote: Actually humanoid companions can wear other armors, e.g. leather armor for Keri. I wonder why devs made that decision to remove the ability to assign new armors, it really bugs me and kinda makes followers pretty worthless in the late game...

its in the dialog options, talk about equipment, talk about armor and choose which armor you want to give him to wear.

Re: Companions
I forced her to use a leather armor with no effect ("use your best armor", or something like that) .salamisami wrote:I've found that Keri will wear combat armor as well.

Haha, thanks man. Finally wrapped my Keri in some decent turtle shellLifeTears wrote: its in the dialog options, talk about equipment, talk about armor and choose which armor you want to give him to wear.
Still wonder why they removed some of the buttons from combat control (best armor and also trade button -wtf).
Re: Companions
Many UI buttons have corresponding hotkeys for them. They're built-in in the game engine and undocumented.Feather wrote:What are those hotkeys? For example, uppercase 'A' (shift+A if caps lock is off) is the hotkey for "Take All" button in loot/container screen.
As for the hotkeys for disabled UI buttons in Resurrection (hidden with extremely small font size, in case some people don't want being spoiled):
Barter/Trade: pressing B in the dialog window, providing the critter has the related flag set.
Use Best Armor: pressing A in the combat control window. BTW, W is for Use Best Weapon.

Heh, 20 years of Fallout and I still learn new stuff about the game. Thanks for the Info.NovaRain wrote:As for the hotkeys for disabled UI buttons in Resurrection (hidden with extremely small font size, in case some people don't want being spoiled):
